Away from the slopes, Saalbach Hinterglemm reveals its tranquil, majestic side. Ski tourers can look forward to sweeping slopes, sunny ascents and an alpine landscape that becomes more impressive with every metre gained.
The ascent takes place step by step through crisp winter air and a tranquil natural setting – accompanied only by the rhythm of your own movements in the snow. Once at the summit, a sweeping view opens up over the Glemm Valley and the surrounding Alps, before the descent through untouched snow provides the perfect finale.
The region offers touring opportunities for beginners as well as experienced ski mountaineers.
For the more ambitious, the ‘Mountain Attack’ is considered one of the most spectacular ski mountaineering races in the Alps – a night-time challenge across several peaks and thousands of metres of elevation gain.
